What does it mean to follow Jesus?
Jesus wants to transform you from the inside out.
What does this mean for us as followers of Jesus? Many are feeling overwhelmed by the vast amount of self-help strategies out there. Unfortunately, while the internet has given us access to vast amounts of knowledge, social media keeps us from forming any deep connections.
This has led many Christians to abandon the idea of true transformation, believing that simply having faith is enough. However, they will experience no change in their lives because the Gospel is seen as merely an idea. Faith has become highly personal, making local church communities seem irrelevant. This is because we have separated our physical and spiritual lives, resulting in fewer spiritual practices within Western Christianity.
However, the teachings of Jesus remain the same, and His promise of change is still offered to us. As we prioritize spiritual practices as a key part of the gospel,we will starts to exprience spiritual growth as our minds are renewed and we become more like Jesus.
Can we live like Jesus today?
Yes, the answer is clear! It comes from being with Jesus, becoming like Him, and following His example. By practising our faith, connecting with others, and nurturing our relationship with Holy Spirit, we can enjoy the fullness of life Jesus promised. Through Him, we connect with God and access the spiritual realm while living on earth.
Grace is more than just favour; it is Jesus’ presence that helps us live as God's children. Hebrews 12:14 encourages us to seek holiness, meaning we live our loyalty and commitment to God by living differently for Him. It starts when we align our lives with Jesus' teachings. This is key to maintaining our connection with God. This has become our new way of life. As we draw closer to Jesus, He transforms us into who we are meant to be, and in turn, we invite others to join us on this journey.
