The community Skills Centre was conceived by the community and built using local labour and the innovative us of “Eco Bricks.” These Eco Bricks are PET plastic bottles which were recovered as waste from the community. Several tons of plastic waste was recycled in the creation of the Skills Centre, making it a very eco-friendly project. The Skills Development Centre forms the primary mechanism for enabling the community of Thabo Mbeki. This has become a hub of coaching, mentoring, training, and work exposure and incorporates skills, personal and social development activities, and emergency interventions.
