Building Hope, Living Abundantly

A Biblical Counselling Ministry.

We are a team of counsellors committed to providing a balanced and biblical approach to counselling. We provide individual, marriage and family counselling. Leisha Askham heads up the team and is assisted by Rosemary Flynn. Anyone wanting to be counselled will be assisted by Leisha or Rosemary or referred to one of our other trained counsellors.

All our Counsellors have been through extensive training through Edify The Wholeness Counselling Framework with Madz Deyzel.

To book your session click both the Booking and Disclaimer Forms. Once completed, send your forms to us via email. You will be contacted to arrange a date with your counsellor.

  • Biblical Counselling aims to provide you with a short-term holistic support structure that includes spiritual, relational and personal maturity so that your life increasingly reflects Jesus. Because we believe that relationship is central, our counsellors have been trained to sit with and be present with people in their deepest pain.

Our counsellors have had training and experience to help you apply the truth of the Bible to your daily life and endeavour to walk alongside you as you rediscover hope for your life as you take ownership of your spiritual growth and transformation.

  • Biblical counselling is the personal journey, where a Counsellee who is struggling, chooses to embark on a short journey with a Counsellor, together with God, His Word and Holy Spirit, so that they increasingly become more like the person God has created them to be.

We believe that all personal change needs to be centred on Jesus Christ (Ephesians 4 v 17 -5 v 2). Real change comes when you learn to see yourself and your problems within a loving relationship with Jesus Christ. Our Counsellors seek to understand your story and together unpack, process and equip you with the right tools that assist in the renewing of your mind (Romans 12 v 2; 2 Cor 10 v 5).

We are not professionals and can not give professional advice. If you need any legal, financial, or medical advice, you will need to seek professional advice in that particular field.

  • We ask you to complete a booking form so we can match you with the counsellor who is best suited for your needs.

We ask you to fill out a disclaimer which explains that our Counsellors are not professional counsellors or therapists. It also covers the question of information, which by law, may need to be disclosed, e.g. known or suspected abuse, credible suicidal intentions or other serious crimes against another person etc.

  • What you put in is what you will get out! If you choose not to complete all your appointments, that is entirely up to you. If you cancel two appointments in a row, we consider that you have chosen not to complete your Counselling.

Confidentiality is a vital aspect of this process. We endeavour to carefully guard the information you entrust to us. However, we do not offer absolute confidentiality as there may be times when it may be necessary to share with the leaders within this ministry and the Church Elders. This will be when a Counsellor is uncertain how to address a particular situation to provide the highest care then we may need to work together as a team while maintaining the circle of confidentiality as tightly as possible.

Please be assured that our counsellors strongly prefer not to disclose personal information to others and will make every effort to help you resolve a problem as privately as possible.
